EAST END Scale: 7mm - 1ft. Gauge 32mm ('0') by Hull Miniature Railway Society

Size: 24ft x 11ft (7.4m x 3.4m) (plus operator space), Operators: Three, Transport: Van.

East End is a through branch station with goods yard, coal yard and cattle dock set around 1950 in a rural area of Derbyshire. For further interest we have added a private creamery with tanker access and a siding for coal to a boiler house.

The centre boards with the station building and signal box came from the Society's Westwood Park layout and were the branch which curled round to its centre. Westwood Park ia a large and heavy layout which still is shown at local events, but as the operators are getting into their senior years and are not as fit as they were, the idea was born to make the branch into a stand alone end to end layout.

The layout is an L shape with a turntable fiddle yard at each end. Starting at the top of the L, you come down the branch line past a goods yard on the left containing a raised coal drop/yard, then you pass the station building on the right. After leaving the station you pass the signal box followed by a farm before climbing an embankment with the creamery and cattle dock to the left. Access to the goods yard, cattle dock and creamery are from points off the passing loop in the station area.
